Finish Ticket at the House of Blues

March 31, 2016

Last Monday I had the privilige to shoot Finish Ticket on their "Ones To Watch" tour at the House of Blues. Their co-headliner, Vinyl Theatre was so fun to shoot as well! Surprisingly though, my favorite shots of the night came from the opening band Patternist. Everyone on the stage that night really brought all the passion and energy they had in them, and it was powerful to experience. Here's some shots from Patternist's set.

After Patternist, Vinyl Theatre came on. I had seen them once before when they opened for Twenty One Pilots' "Quiet is Violent" tour in fall of 2014. Even then their energy grabbed the whole audience's attention. They have such great stage presence and make the show more than music, but an experience which I admire so much.

And then it came time for Finish Ticket to take the stage. Apparently there's a lot of Finish Ticket fans in San Diego, because the crowd was roaring the moment they stepped into the light. The singer, Brendan Hoye, made extra effort to connect with the crowd throughout their set. I have also seen Finish Ticket once before when they opened for Twenty One Pilots' Blurryface tour last fall. I got to meet the drummer, Gabe Stein, before that show and he was an incredibly nice guy. They were passing out free tickets to the show for any fan that had been scammed off of stubhub or other websites, which was amazingly thoughtful and kind.

If you ever get the chance to see any of these bands live I highly recommend it, you will have a truly amazing and fun experience! Until next time.
